In December 2014 ODA partnered with Woolworths South Africa to develop a framework for a Graduate Development Programme for their annual intake of graduates. Woolworths had an existing partnership with the Wholesale & Retail SETA where they offered a 12 month work place experience programme for graduates in various areas of the business.
ODA teamed up with the Learning & Development department to gain an initial understanding of the organization, specifically the operational demands of retail within each Business Unit. An iterative design process was followed whereby a Phase 1 framework was proposed and implemented. ODA remained close to the programme through design and facilitation of workshops and interaction with various stakeholders. After the completion of phase1 the team used feedback from the programme participants and combined this with global trends in best practice to generate the updated Phase 2 framework.
